Building services design must be integrated into an MEP project’s overall design from a very early stage, particularly on complex applications such as hospitals and healthcare facilities. The detection of clashes between building services and other building components can cause delays and variations on site, both in terms of the physical services and access for the builders working with them. The use of 3D computer aided design (CAD) systems and BIM will help prevent such issues. From our head office, Woodford delivers schemes from £1M to £30M and know the importance of understanding of our clients’ design needs. We ensure we are fully aware of the structural constraints of your project, in order to provide a buildable and pleasing design.
We offer services and processes that maximise efficiency across entire projects – including Building Information Modelling (BIM). BIM is a process for creating and managing information on a construction project throughout its whole lifecycle. As part of this process, a coordinated digital description of every aspect of the built asset is developed, using a set of appropriate technology. Thanks to our extensive 3D modelling experience, Woodford’s BIM drawings and models are created to the highest standards, ensuring optimum levels of accuracy and performance. Our experienced BIM team embodies Woodford’s work ethic and renowned for constantly delivering BIM models of the highest quality.
Woodford offers a prefabrication and off-site packaged solutions service, as and where required. Pipework can be prefabricated off-site and plant items packaged onto skids suitably designed for each project. These services ensure speedy installation times and exceptional quality control, minimising the requirement for labour intensive, site-based operations – especially hot works and working at height. We use advanced 3D modelling software to generate high specification drawings, which are available in both carbon and stainless steel piping options, depending on client requirements.
