1. What attracted you to join Woodford in your current role of Health, Safety & Environment Manager? I was ready for a new challenge, and I felt Woodford was the perfect place to start this. Woodford gave me the opportunity to express myself which was a key selling point. 2. What are your biggest challenges in this role? We are constantly adapting to face challenging scenarios on a day-to-day basis. It is challenging to ensure all our staff are best equipped with the best HSEQ knowledge & support possible. 3. What does a typical day look like in your role for Woodford? No day is ever the same which makes life at Woodford very interesting! My day can vary from delivering HSEQ training to our staff, carrying out site inspections, or in the office looking at ways to improve the HSEQ performance within the business. 4. When not at work, what are your interests/hobbies? I'm a massive football fan & often spend my weekends somewhere across the country usually watching Watford lose! 5. 1. What attracted you to join us as an Apprentice? A family member of mine is a plumber and I was inspired when I did some work experience with him. I left with a keen interest in plumbing. 2. What are your biggest challenges in this role? All sites are different so getting to grips with new knowledge and tasks can be challenging at first. 3. What does a typical day look like in your role for Woodford? Working with the team to achieve the workload on site whilst enjoying being with my colleagues at Hounslow. 4. 1. What attracted you to join Woodford? While researching the company, I noticed the emphasis on a commitment to learning and improving. This resonated with me, as I find personal and professional development essential for growth. Additionally, it was a career change for me, as I previously worked in the medical industry. The opportunity to bring my skills and experiences into a new field, and to grow within a supportive and innovative company like Woodford, was incredibly exciting. 2. What are your biggest challenges in this role? One of the biggest challenges in my role is ensuring that each project receives the attention it needs while meeting deadlines. However, this challenge is also what makes the job exciting and fulfilling, as it constantly pushes me to improve my time management and prioritization skills. 3. What does a typical day look like in your role for Woodford? I spend a significant portion of my day working on various tasks, collaborating with colleagues across different departments and sites. Each day is dynamic, offering a mix of independent work and teamwork. 4. When not at work, what are your interests/hobbies? Outside of work, I enjoy activities that help me relax and recharge. I love exploring nature, which gives me a great sense of peace and adventure. I am also passionate about extreme sports, which provide an adrenaline rush and a sense of achievement. 1. What attracted you to your current role of Financial Controller? The finance department was going through a major transition – systems & staff structure and it was the perfect opportunity to work closely with the Finance Director to shape the future of the department, improve processes and provide monthly reporting to senior management. 2. What are your biggest challenges in this role? Ensuring that all the different elements (sales, purchase, subcontractor, payroll) close their ledgers on time and accurately, the production of the monthly management accounts and preparation of the monthly board pack. 3. What does a typical day look like as a Financial Controller for Woodford? No two days are the same. A typical day will be split across three core areas: 1) Dealing with queries from other departments or external stakeholders. 2) Working with team members within the finance department to ensure they have the support to complete their duties. 3) Ensuring that I achieve my month end reporting targets. 4. 1. What attracted you to your current role as Contracts Manager? The feeling of accomplishment when a project is completed and you can look back at it and be proud of what you and TEAM have done. Also the pressure and the challenges that can come at any moment during a project and how you get over them successfully. Taking all previous experience and utilising it in your current project to make it more successful. 2. What are your biggest challenges in this role? The biggest challenge is making sure the project runs as planned. By making sure you are always looking 6 weeks, constantly planning and having a plan b in place for when something is thrown into the mix. Being organised is key to the job as without it, the project could not be successful. 3. What does a typical day look like as a CM for Woodford? Planning and communication is something I do every day. Evaluating the current status of the job, planning ahead with the team, making sure price work is achievable always 6 weeks in advance. Regular client meetings and site walk through with sub-contractors. Making sure everyone is moving in the right direction. 4. When not at work, what are your interests/hobbies? I recently had a baby boy called Jake, so he’s my main focus. I want to be able to take him around the world and travel to different places. 1. What attracted you to your current role of Communications and Office Manager? I joined Woodford in 2017 as an office administrator and was keen to progress my career from day one. When I was offered a promotion to a managerial role, I was delighted and looked forward to the new challenges that lied ahead. 2. What are your biggest challenges in this role? I now have bigger responsibilities such as running a team so I have others to think about as well as myself. I need to follow a strict schedule and make sure important deadlines are met so that the role can run as smoothly as possible. 3. What does a typical day look like in your role for Woodford? No two days are the same in my role, some days are creative and some are more report based. I am responsible for the internal and external communications of the company whilst overseeing parts of the office. Some days are spent creating content whilst others are spent organising events. 4. When I am not at work I am either socialising with friends, at the gym or working on my university course where I am studying a BA Hons Business Management course. 5.
